The story develops as you progress from settlement to settlement, meeting humans and monsters alike. ![]() Eventually, you’ll come across Beth, a power-hungry woman, destined to rip apart the balance on Crown Island and return the monstrous Philosopher Kings to power. Along the way, you’ll encounter several characters who all play a role in the goings-on in their locale. Eventually, a group of people rose up and overthrew the Philosopher Kings.Ī little while in the future, you play as a 14-year-old trainer, who sets off on a task to leave his parents’ farm to forge a bond with a nearby king in order to gain a good standing for the farm. Monster Crown is set on Crown Island, which, according to the game lore, was 20 years prior ruled by the “Philosopher Kings” (if this is a reference to Plato’s Republic, kudos to Walsh) who were tyrannical beings, hell-bent on exerting their own power. However, the game boasts a large world with plenty to explore, over 200 monsters, and a decent story, which makes the whole title really appealing to those who enjoy this type of game. Lead developer Jason Walsh endeavored to create a monster taming game with a truly involved breeding mechanic, which is what makes Monster Crown unique. Monster Crown has been in development for over four years now and is finally in early access. Monster Crown doesn’t disappoint and put me right back in that mindset I was in when I was younger – catch, tame, train and progress, with a considerable amount of time being poured into the first two. I've exhausted myself trying to search every nook and cranny by land and sea and still have yet to even find an area I can access I haven't already been to before, and I don't see any further hints to any others that I haven't found yet.In a world where monster taming games are quite abundant, it takes a decent one to get me hooked. Lastly, it's possible outside of the three that are ocean encounter dependent specifically that a lot of others may only be found though Trade/Wild Egg. I can also confirm the strange monster I saw on the telescope is another monster that is very hard to find, and is found wandering the ocean, is technically a boss at lv150. There apparently are 3 general areas Lucifer will spawn and it's a once an in-game day kind of thing, with 25% chance of spawning. Having joined the Discord and lurking in some of the chats I can confirm that Tidhan is a monster that will be removed and replaced with a DLC monster, hence why it just looks like a palette swap of Scavengeist, and Omozon is one of three possible eggs you will get from encountering Lucifer within the ocean. Omozon (Chance to drop from the Ocean giant) Tidhan (Don't know where it's from, it is a pallete swap of scavengeist and has no description)ħ1. ![]() Originally posted by Captain Forgenschweizer:Cross referencing mine with yours the only ones I have that you don't areĤ3. Here is the spreadsheet: Monster Crown Notebook monster list It would be a great help to get help on finding these last monsters to try to obtain them all and build my personal dream team. ![]() So this post is basically just to ask for confirmation if all monsters are currently available or not, and if so, some possible hints as to finding them (preferably without giving names).įor that I also made sure to create a spreadsheet listing my current Notebook progress with all the monsters and whether or not they've been obtained (and since I wasn't looking up names of the monsters I have never seen they're listed as ?). Anyways, as someone who loves to obtain every possible monster, I'm curious as to whether or not all monsters are now obtainable.Īfter filling up at least four boxes of monsters newly obtainable, I found that there are still a number of entries that I have yet to even locate, with one I've seen in battle but never could find in the wild (Thallox). It was quite a wild ride especially finding the entire post-game area. Now that the game is out of Early Access, I went back and experienced the rest of the story, and the post-game content.
